Everyone knows of the cloud giants which dominates markets around the world; with Azure, AWS, and GCP as global leaders. Some are familiar with smaller cloud service providers (CSPs) closer to home, including MyT and Cloud.mu.

After attempting to run a workshop on Kubernetes, I had a burning question - how hard is it to just... make your own cloud service provider? One you could run from anywhere, be it from enterprise-grade gear in a datacenter, or from a handful of Raspberry Pi SBCs in your living room?

This talk will cover how Kubernetes is used to turn any generic cluster into a cloud service provider; one which minimises resource usage and preserves scalability, while not compromising on security or feature-set.

Attendees can expect to gain insights on all kinds of challenges surrounding infrastructure, from hardware and virtualisation to networking and security. Additionally, expect a crash course on a number of cloud native technologies and how they are used for such a wild project!
