Session
Preemptive Strike: Killing Your Systems Before They Kill You
Saturday 25 July

In today's distributed systems, failure isn't a matter of if—it's a matter of when. Yet most organizations wait for an outage to strike before discovering their blind spots. This reactive approach costs revenue, reputation, and engineering sanity. It's time to flip the script.
Preemptive Strike is a philosophy rooted in chaos engineering: intentionally introducing failure into your systems to expose weaknesses before your users do. By simulating real-world outages—network latency, dependency failures, region outages, and resource exhaustion—you move from hoping for resilience to engineering it.
In this session, we'll move beyond theory into multi-cloud execution. You'll learn how to weaponize AWS Fault Injection Service (FIS) and Azure Chaos Studio to design, orchestrate, and learn from controlled chaos experiments across both platforms
