Thursday 23 July
12:00 – 13:00
Educator 2
Back to agenda
Rust has garnered a bit of a stereotype as of late, landing much like the "i use arch btw" of programming languages. A typical tagline sounds something like "blazing fast, memory safe, and fearless concurrency". While everyone touts AI as the sole future of programming, companies are gradually rewriting their core services in Rust.
From Cloudflare to Ladybird Browser, Git, and even the Linux kernel, Rust is popping up in more and more places, in services and toolchains we use daily.
This session will give a blazing fast introduction to the wonderful language of Rust, whether you are an experienced C developer or a Javascript person.
You will learn about the perks of Rust, including its phenomenal compiler, and how to use them to build highly performant applications which can truly scale (unlike nodejs). Finally, you will see a couple of Rust frameworks in action and how simple web development can be with Rust!
